ONE ACCORD is an award winning family trio that has been performing together for the past 15 years, six with its present line-up. Based in Newcastle (Australia), the ensemble features vocalists Michelle Gibson, her husband John, plus their 19 year old daughter Naomi. One Accord has a unique approach that combines seasoned vocal harmonies, piano, acoustic guitars and sequenced accompaniments. The three piece presents a blend of contemporary and traditional worship, southern and traditional Gospel, a capella, folk, plus Latin American grooves. The trio regularly tours Australia, New Zealand, the Pacific Islands, USA, plus Central and South America and performs at churches, schools, and festivals.
Michelle is best known for her songs Never Let The Sun Go Down which went Top 10 on the Australian national Christian music charts in 2006, and Beautiful Day which gained her an Australian Gospel Music Award in 2005. Before forming One Accord, she toured the globe as a member of Endless Praise (for five years), Iron and Clay and the Sydney Praise Band (both for two years).
John is a gifted singer, musician, arranger, and record producer who migrated from Chile to Australia in 1988. Like Michelle, he performed with Endless Praise, Iron and Clay and The Sydney Praise Band. He won acclaim in 1996 when he produced what became the Spanish Album of the Year for Embajadores de Paz and won a Silver Angel Award for excellence in media. He formed One Accord with his wife Michelle and brother, Alex, in the late 90s.
Naomi is the eldest daughter of John and Michelle. She is a singer songwriter who has performed with One Accord for the past six years. She recently completed Year 12 and gained an award for musical excellence at the Australian International Conservatorium of Music (AICM).
