One Accord was founded in Florida, USA in 1994 by brothers Alex and John Gibson and John’s wife Michelle. Alex was a former member of the male quartet “Amigos”, stationed in Puerto Rico and known throughout South America. Meanwhile John and Michelle had just spent 5 years on tour with the Australian ensemble “Endless Praise”. After an extensive tour throughout Central and South America, John and Michelle decided to take a well deserved break and spend time in Florida with Alex and family. The long awaited reunion between John and Alex reignited childhood memories of singing together and with the addition of Michelle, the trio was born. The group began receiving invitations to sing in neighbouring Churches, Youth Rally’s and Conferences and even received repeated airplay on Trinity Broadcasting Network following the taping of a live concert at Bethel Baptist Temple in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. John, being involved with music production from a very young age and being a trained vocalist and arranger, had the chance to help several local ministries and even received a prestigious Silver Angel Award (Excellence in Media Award) in 1996 www.angelawards.com/index.html for the production of the album “Solo Cristo” by the group “Embajadores De Paz”. The album was honoured as “Spanish album of the year” and Michelle wrote three of the songs and was also recognized as an “Angel” recipient. Being unable to extend their visa in the US, Michelle and John returned home to Australia and continued to sing as husband and wife. They also spent 2 years touring with the well known Australian youth ministry “Iron and Clay” while at the same time performing with the respected “Sydney Praise Band”. Having the chance to work in many High Schools with Iron and Clay prompted a real awakening to the frustration and despair of many young people across Australia, and was a source of inspiration for Michelle’s recent self titled solo album which was produced by husband John and co-produced by Michelle www.michellegibson.net.au. An invitation back to the US in 2003 saw the chance to involve their 10 year old daughter Naomi with her parent’s ministry. Her obvious talent found herself a permanent place in “One Accord”. Now the group continue to minister as a family across Australia at churches, rally's, schools, festivals, carols and other special events.
